1994

Parapharm International SA established

Parapharm International SA is established as a successor firm to Hermes, marketing medicines and OTC products. We choose to specialise in diabetes-related products and begin dynamic marketing of them at the Greek market.

1997

Leader in the administration of insulin

We start working with the internationally renowned firm BD Medical. We promote their medical products for administering insulin in the Greek market. This immediately makes them a well-known name and Parapharm the undisputed leader in this market.

 

2000

Parapharm North SA established

Our share in the market in Northern Greece is growing, especially in Thessaloniki. To meet the increasing demand in Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus and Thessaly, we set up Parapharm North SA, a pharmaceuticals trading enterprise.

 

2001

Aggressive penetration of the Greek market

We begin working with Roche Diagnostics, a leader in in-vitro diagnostics. Marketing Diabetes Care products, we aggressively penetrate the entire Greek market. This extensive range of products bolsters our portfolio in diabetes.

 

2006

Cutting edge pharma logistics services 

We acquire Pigi Pharmaceutical SA. Capitalising on their cutting edge facilities, equipment and know-how, we expand our business into logistics, warehousing and distribution, as well as packaging and labelling.

New HQ at privately owned facilities 

We relocated our HQ to a privately owned, 5,000 m2 building formerly owned by Pigi Pharmaceutical SA.

2007 - 2010

Expanding our range of diabetes products 

We enter into new partnerships and bring specialised brand-name products for diabetes to the Greek pharmaceutical market:

  • Physiologica and Cleanoz by Gifrer
  • Pulmoll lozenges by Kalfany
  • Callusan foot care products for diabetics by Greppmayr
  • Cutticura series antibacterial products by Keyline
  • Dex4 Glucose tablets by CanAm

 

New, state-of-the-art warehouses

We transfer our warehouses to UNILOG’s state-of-the-art facilities in Markopoulo, Attica.

Certification for quality and distribution procedures:

  • ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance certification
  • ISO 9001:2008 distribution procedures certification

 

2011

Exclusive partnerships with old and new partners

We sign new exclusive distribution agreement with the US based NIPRO Diagnostics. We market the TRUEresult Twist series of blood glucose meters in the Greek market. We are now also BD Medical - Diabetes Care exclusive partner, following another contract.
 

 

Comprehensive logistics, packaging and labelling services

We add new services to the range we offer to our partners. Our partnership with Roche Diagnostics now includes comprehensive warehousing and distribution (logistics) services as well as packaging and labelling services.

 

2012

New commercial operations

We expand our sales network and set up 3 separate sales teams. Members of our teams provide systematic briefings to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical and medical sector right across Greece.

 

Ongoing search for new partners

We are seeking out new partnerships. Our goal is to have partners at our side who share our values and vision about combating diabetes.

 

2015
 

We sign new exclusive distribution agreement with the German company UEBE. We promote at the Greek market the Visomat line of blood pressure meters, No1 in the German market.

 

We sign new exclusive distribution agreement with the US based 3M. We market the consumer health care lines Futuro & Nexcare plus the pharmacy distributed Medical line.

 

2016

Relocation to new premises

In March 2016 we moved to new state-of-the-art, 7.500m2 facilities at Metamorfosi, Attica. The new premises are equipped with the latest technology systems including the robotic conveyor system KNAPP with capacity of 800 orders per hour automatically picked and packed.

Pharmacy warehousing / distribution license

In October 2016, Parapharm was licensed from EOF (Greek Medicines Organisation) to distribute medicines for human use.
